It is with immense sadness that I have to announce that Pete Ford, Secretary of Metheringham Football Club, has sadly passed away today at Lincoln County Hospital.
Pete really was “Mr Local Football” and his untimely passing will be felt by all who knew him. I was lucky and privileged to have known Pete for the best part of 40 years and his commitment to Lincoln local parks football was as strong as it was when I first met him.
He was a first class Club Secretary but above all he was a first class person who will be so sadly missed by all who knew him.
On behalf of the League I send our sincere condolences to his wife and family at this incredibly sad and difficult time. I also send the League’s condolences to all at Metheringham Football Club.
The League will hold a one minutes silence in memory of Pete before the final games are played on Sunday 13th May. Details of Pete’s funeral will be published on this site when they are known.
