Metheringham FC v North Scarle FC – Player injury update

On Sunday 24th November the above game was abandoned after 20 minutes due to a serious injury sustained by Liam Hargrave of Metheringham FC, which required ambulance attendance for a suspected broken leg. The incident from which this arose was not a foul and was the result of a most unfortunate accident. Liam was taken by Ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital where he subsequently underwent an operation on the injury that he sustained.

Although it was not known at the time a North Scarle FC player also sustained a leg fracture, although the exact details are not known at this stage.

Metheringham FC wish to place on record that the injury sustained by Liam was not incurred through the fault of any North Scarle player and the compassion that was expressed by all connected with North Scarle FC was exemplary and much appreciated by the player and his family.

On behalf of the League Management Committee, and I am certain that I also speak for all connected with, and who follow, the Lincoln Sunday League, I wish both players the very best of luck for speedy recoveries on their respective journeys back to full fitness.
