EXTENSION TO THE PLAYING SEASON

The Lincolnshire County Football Association have approved a request from the League to extend the current playing Season which was due to end on Sunday 30th April 2023.

The League has lost 4 full Sundays so far this Season, as a result of the death of Her Majesty the Queen in September, and 3 Sundays due to frozen pitches in December and January.

As a result the Season will now be extended by 4 additional Sundays and will now conclude on Sunday 28th May 2023.

The League appreciates that the extension may cause difficulties for some Clubs in relation to their pitch availability, and also appreciates that the extended date may also challenge player availability for some dates after 30th April.

It is also appreciated that the 4 Sundays in the month of May include 2 Bank Holiday weekends. The first one also sees Lincoln City play their final game of the Season at home to Shrewsbury Town, that game carries a 12 noon kick off time.

With this in mind ALL CLUBS ARE REQUIRED TO NOTIFY THE LEAGUE SECRETARY OF ANY FORESEEN ISSUES with any of the dates allocated for the games allocated in May, AS A MATTER OF URGENCY, and the League Secretary will endeavour to work with Clubs to find a suitable solution.

This must be done NOW however in order to give the League a chance, wherever possible, to move things around fixture wise, should this be necessary.
