31st March – Results and Scorers Round-Up

Premier Division

AFC Golden Eagle  7-2  New Swan

The home side completed their first Season in the League’s top division with a comprehensive victory over struggling New Swan. O’Melia hit 4 goals whilst Davies chipped in with a brace and Greatorex completed their scoring with an absolute screamer. Firth and Halton replied for the Birchwood based side but their Season’s struggle for points continued.

Division One

Lincoln High Street  1-2  Bassingham Bugle Horn FC

Richardson gave the visitors a first half lead which they maintained up to the break. Walker added a second during the second half, it is not known who scored the goal for High Street.

Fox & Hounds FC  1-6  Wishing Well Cherry FC

Dady scored the goal for Fox, no details have been reported in relation to who scored the goals for the visitors.

North Lindum Hawks  1-1  Newton United

No details reported for the scorers of either side.

Division Two

Dunston FC  0-6  Plough Sturton

A hat-trick from Everington, 2 goals from Patching, and an effort from Lansdall gave the team from Sturton a comfortable win when they visited Dunston. This result keeps them firmly entrenched in the top 3 race and leaves their hosts looking ever likely to finish in a bottom two position.

Old Boys United  0-5  Cherry Willingham

Cherry improved their scoring record from this visit to Branston with 5 goals coming from 2 players. A hat-trick from Foster-Mathieson and a brace from Shucksmith moved them up and out of the bottom 2 League placings as Old Boys hover around the lower mid-table positions.

Ruston Sports FC  2-5  Horncastle Town

An O’Callaghan hat-trick, one coming from the penalty spot, and goals by Puckering and Bullivant inflicted some serious damage on the hosts at Ruston Marconi. Goals from Wyld and Mann could not stop the home side from slipping to only their 3rd League defeat of the Season as the two sides swapped places with each other in the League table.

Division Three

Broadley FC  2-1  Queen Athletic

A goal from Marklew could not save Queen from slipping to a narrow defeat when they visited in-form Broadley FC.

Shakespeare Imps  2-1  Lincoln RNA

Binnington and Kiszka were on target for the Imps whilst Middleton notched what proved to be only a consolation goal for the visitors.

Nosey FC  1-3  Stacey West FC

Pearce, Naylor, and Andrews hauled the visitors out of the drop zone with goals at Nosey, for whom Goodacre was the man on target. Lincoln RNA drop into the bottom two places and will remain there as today saw them complete their League fixtures.

Division Four

Railway Inn United  1-3  Bottle & Glass

The Leaders suffered a rare defeat when 2 goals from Wright and another goal from Houltby upset the apple cart when the teams met at Fen Lane. Markham scored the consolation goal for the home team as they slipped to only their second League defeat of the Season.

Crown & Arrows  5-1  M.H.Blue Lion

Carter scored from a corner to give the Lion a first half lead but they couldn’t hold on against the top four side who won the game comfortably knocking in 2 goals in the first half and 3 more after the break.

Metheringham Reserves  2-8

Not for the first time this Season it proved to be the Bentley Cousins who caused havoc in their opposition penalty boxes as Liam recorded another hat-trick and Craig grabbed 2 goals for himself. Humberstone also scored a hat-trick – having been introduced from the subs bench! Hilton and Barnes were both on target for the hosts who are still looking for their first League win of the Season.

The Ferryboat FC  7-2 Green Dragon

There were two hat-trick heroes for Ferryboat in this game with both Turner and Flintham claiming one apiece. Kogut completed the scoring for Ferryboat whilst Stephenson replied with a brace for the visitors.
