With the current weather conditions, and taking into consideration both the National and Local weather forecasts for the weekend, I am fearful that we will not be able to play any of our League or Cup matches this weekend once again.
I am considering common sense here, and also what I am being told from Club Officials across our playing network.
That said, with a large area across the League, I appreciate that there are Club Officials out there that still believe there is a chance of their game being able to go ahead, so with this in mind this is what the League will do:
If you are the home team this weekend and if you believe that your pitch may be playable, then I ask you to carry out a pitch inspection NO LATER THAN 4PM SATURDAY 11th January (TOMORROW). If, upon inspection, you believe that your pitch still has a chance of being played on then you MUST NOTIFY ME AND YOU MUST NOTIFY YOUR OPPOSITION that a further pitch inspection will need to be carried out no later than 9am on Sunday morning 12th January.
If you carry out a pitch inspection tomorrow and the pitch is not playable you do not need to contact me because unless I receive positive news that your pitch has a chance, unless the weather conditions change favorably in the meantime, I am unfortunately going to have to formally announce at 5pm tomorrow that all matches will be postponed.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND: The decision on postponements is NOT MADE NOW, it will be made in accordance with the above instructions at 5pm tomorrow.
The League has put this out to everyone now so that you everyone is updated on this obvious issue relating to the obvious challenges of whether games are likely toi be played this Sunday, 12th January 2025.
Regards to everyone,
Ian Stephenson
League Secretary
