Wednesday 13th May 2026 will see the last of the League’s 4 domestic Cup Finals this Season with the final of the Jock Mitchell Memorial Trophy Cup Final taking place.
This Competition is mandatory for all returning teams that compete in the lowest two Divisions of our League.
This contest sees Division 4 Champions, Greenbank FC, taking on Division 3 team Anchor AFC.
Both teams are capable of defeating any of their own Divisional opponents on their day, which makes for a most interesting match in this final. Greenbank arrive at LNER having secured the Division 4 title with a win in their final League fixture. They did so by recording 19 wins from their 22 League fixtures and they arrive in formidable form.
Anchor AFC finished in 5th position in the Division 3 standings; they recorded 12 wins from their 22 league fixtures.
This will be the first time that the Jock Mitchell Memorial Trophy Final has ever been played on an EFL Championship Ground, this is as a result of the amazing efforts of EFL League 1 Champions Lincoln City fulfilling the dreams of all keen Lincoln City Supporters in the EFL Season just ended.
Ahead of the game I will take a look at how the 2 teams got to the final.
GREENBANK FC:
Round 1: 4-1 win v Waddington United (Home)
Round 2: 3-1 win v Cranwell Rovers FC (Away)
Semi-Final: 3-2 win v Brant Broughton FC (Home)
ANCHOR AFC:
Round 1: 5-2 win (after extra-time) v Belton FC (Home)
Round 2: 4-2 win v FC Lincs Reserves (Home)
Semi-Final: 4-1 win v Cherry Tree FC (Home)
The match kicks off at the LNER Stadium at 7.00pm. The Match Officials are:
