My name is Joey Pickthall and I am 19 years old, before joining Lincoln University I attended the Rushcroft Football Academy sponsored by Colchester United where I was one of 30 boys selected of the cohort of around 500 applicants purely on football ability. Unfortunately, the government has cut the funding to the academy, and that fast became a negative atmosphere for football. I am now hopefully looking for a team in Lincoln where I can showcase my talent.
For the last two years, I have also played for the Young Parkonians, before this I lived in Dubai and played for many teams most of which I captained under different managers including the ex-England international Trevor Sinclair.
My position is either centre-back or central defensive midfield and my skills are, passing, reading the game, tackling technique and leadership qualities. I hope to find a competitive well-run club where I can continue to develop as a footballer and realise my dream of turning professional, I promise to be completely committed to the team I join and hope to be selected for a trial.
