23rd April – results and tables

The results for the games played today can be found as always under the relevant section of each division.

The results from the midweek games played within the last 7 days, together with the results from today’s games, means that the top two placings in each division has resulted in the following:

Premier Division: Winners: Ivy Tavern
                  Second place: New Swan FC
Division One:       Winners: Gatehouse FC
                   Second place: Saxilby Athletic
Division Two:       Winners: Bassingham Bugle Horn FC
                   Second place: FVA Jerusalem
Division Three:      Winners: Wragby FC
                     Second place: Shakespeare Athletic
Division Four:        Winners: AFC Golden Eagle
Second place: Coningsby FC OR Broadley FC
Congratulations to all involved on these fine achievements. Next Sunday, 30th April, will see the curtain come down on this League season. It will also determine which team out of Coningsby FC and Broadley FC, will take the second spot in division Four. As will be seen all other top two placings in the divisions have now been determined.
Wednesday evening this week, 26th April, sees the first Sunday League Cup Final of the season to be played at the home of the newest members of the Football League, namely Lincoln City. The game will be played between Division 3 side, Cherry Willingham FC, and Division Four Champions AFC Golden Eagle. Cherry Willingham warmed up for the occasion today by registering a 21-1 win at home to HBW United whilst AFC Golden Eagle secured their division’s title by defeating AFC West End 1-6 at Lincoln Christ Hospital School. Both sides play free scoring football and the two teams have notched 240 League goals between them this season. Whatever happens on the night I am not expecting a dull 0-0 draw! Kick-off is at 7.30pm with entry prices of £5.00 per adult and £2.00 for concessions.
Local League Cup Finals regularly serve up excellent football and entertainment so why not come along and support the event at the home of the National League Champions elect? With these two teams on show we should be in for a treat of football and a goal or two hopefully!
